Guide to Gas Prices and what they REALLY
cost you!
Below you will find
what each five cent increase in gas prices really cost you, based on the fuel
economy of your vehicle and the amount of miles you drive per month. Follow these easy instructions:
Match the closest
miles per gallon your vehicle gets (Either 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30)
then choose the
closest amount of miles you drive monthly
(Either 1000,
1500, or 2000)

A word of advice from the CarGuy:
Before you consider trading your present car
for something more fuel efficient, I would advise you to really look at the
numbers. If it costs you $4000 to trade
vehicles for instance, even at $2.25 per gallon, you can buy 1778 gallons of
gas.
In a vehicle that gets 20 miles per gallon,
you'll have to drive 35,000 miles just to get your $4000 back. If it cost you more to trade cars, you will
have to drive longer just to break even.
Just make wise choices after you see the
true cost of fuel and what effect rising prices has on your particular
situation. In most cases, it is not as
costly as first thought.
Best of luck!
